Once upon a time I tried growing an avocado seed…….believe it or not it was a big success! Just stick it with toothpicks and sprout in water (maybe with some mineral-filled rocks in the bottom of the glass container………..that helped when I grew a sweet potato once) and make sure you grow it right side up ?or down#8230;.:D

I totally would love to one day “growing” guacamole, too!

I would LOVE to grow guacamole. Or avocado anything. I’m attempting right now to grow “salsa”, so we’ll see how it goes.

We can never seem to escape aphids so I’m not a terribly successful gardener, but I still plant a few things on my patio. The cilantro is doing well so far, and my fingers are crossed for the tomatoes I sprouted. My husband’s dream is to “grow guacamole.”

I”m so inspired by your garden and even though we are lucky enough to have a more traditional garden so we don’t have to worry about anything knocking them to the ground we still have all the same worries because it’s our first year too! My husband is doing an EXCELLENT job taking care of our seedlings but all the same worries are there…why are they turning yellow is it underwatered or overwatered. are they getting enough sun…too much PLEASE DON’T DIE WE LOVE YOU! It’s really incredible watching them all come up all different leaves and shapes all different purposes. One thing that might help if you don’t have enough window space is think about getting a “sun bulb” which simulates the sun it will help give more UV Rays to the plants that don’t have enough room on the balcony. good luck! :)

My 2nd floor garden is only a small planter of a handful of herbs and a tomato plant that has yet to produce any tomatoes. I’m still trying! But, I’ve managed to kill a bamboo plant before…

Actually, I think it was the bamboo plant you gave me. :-\ Sorry! Here’s to hoping that my 2nd floor garden goes better than that!

(Let’s not mention that your mother used to grow flowers but forgets to water the house plants and has never really grown any food!!!!!)
